It is important for the academic advisor to challenge their bias for the student to receive a fair and just solution according to their circumstance.

Different narratives in society can impact our perception of social justice in many ways. These narratives can be cultural and economic which can shape how individuals view the student’s situation and the solution. The cultural background of the academic advisor and student can impact their perspectives on work, education, and financial responsibility. With different cultural background comes different obligations.
 
4. Describe the core principles of social justice in the scenario.
 
The five core principles of social justice are access to resources, equity, participation, diversity, and human rights. In this scenario access to resources plays a crucial role in the student’s ability to navigate through their academic and personal challenges. The student doesn’t have the luxury of leaving their part-time job as the academic advisor advised and may not have access to the financial resources they need.
