Application: Research Paper: Standards for Data Interchange This week we have talked about four standards for data interchange. Each of them was created for a specific purpose and function. Data interchange standards are developed and overseen by different Entities and are needed for a number of reasons. To prepare for this Application Assignment, review two of the standards for data interchange presented in this week’s Learning Resources: Health Level 7 (HL7), Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM), National Council on Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), and Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ASC X12).
