As a legal assistant within a large corporation, a corporate attorney has asked you to analyze the activity of a U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator in your area. The purpose of this analysis is to gain as much knowledge about a politician before an organization decides to endorse the politician and donate to the politician’s campaign. The organization is the same type of organization that you have chosen at the beginning of the course. Conduct research into a politician’s background, support of the legislation, and voting record using all available Internet tools at your disposal. You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation that is designed to highlight the overall analysis of the politician. You will also give your analysis of their support of bills and voting record to offer recommendations to the attorney for whom you work and, ultimately, the organization’s leadership.
The PowerPoint presentation will be 12-15 slides. Within the content of the PowerPoint presentation, you will accomplish the following:
• Detail a politician’s background and political philosophy.
• Describe a politician’s political and policy orientation.
• Detail support for bills and voting history.
• Analyze a politician’s support and voting history.
• Create recommendations as they relate to potential donations and endorsements in the upcoming election.
All slides in the PowerPoint slideshow should have accompanying slide notes that detail the lecture content. All content will be substantive in nature. Please include 100 words at least on each slide and at least 250 words in the slide notes. Please submit the PowerPoint slideshow and accompanying slide notes.
