Understanding Diverse Families [CLOs: 1, 2]
As an early childhood professional, you have the opportunity to support children; this includes creating and maintaining effective relationships with families. According to the NAEYC, educators should be skillful in building family and community partnerships. Each programs should support reciprocal, respectful, and collaborative relationships with families (NAEYC, 2007). As an educator, it is crucial that you recognize the diversity of the students and families who are involved in the early childhood setting, while also understand the importance of developing and maintaining relationships that nurture this diversity.
