Your team is implementing the CPOE system in a large academic medical center in California and in a small community hospital in Virginia. You are reporting to stakeholders in both locations, and they are requesting weekly status checks. After an initial meeting with senior leadership, it seems clear to you that the stakeholder expectations do not align with the agreed-upon project plan. They are pushing to meet an aggressive schedule, and you have concerns that it could allow personal health data to be compromised. Also, each state has regulatory and policy mandates that demand different requirements for project implementation.Communication PlanDevelop a communication management plan to effectively manage client expectations based on the scenario. Your communication plan should be 5–6 pages and should include the following:Stakeholder communication requirementsInformation to be communicatedMethod of presentationFrequency and time frame of communicationSender responsible for communicationConstraints and assumptions of the communication planMethods for addressing sensitive or proprietary informationMethods for addressing regulatory differencesBudget associated with communication activitiesDefinition of project scope. In addition to your communication plan, provide a 1- to 2-page letter that senior leadership can adopt to communicate project scope with a consistent message.Part 2: Risk and EthicsReview the following scenario:You are part of a project team that has been deployed by your supervisor, Gloria, to an off-site customer for the implementation of a healthcare information technology (HIT) project that must be completed on time to coincide with the opening of a new hospital wing relying in part on this new technology. You learn that Mike, the project manager, has been ordering shortcuts on testing to meet the deadline. You can see that Mike’s actions keep the project on schedule and the product seems to work well, but you are concerned about the additional risk caused by the shortcuts. Gloria has asked you for an update on this project.Write a 2- to 3-page letter to your supervisor in which you address the following:Risk Assessment. Identify potential sources of risk associated with the project. Identify potential risks to the project if you do or do not take action.Risk Mitigation. Identify strategies you would use to mitigate the potential risks you identified. Explain whether it may or may not be beneficial to accept increased risk in order to meet project goals. Justify your response.Ethical Considerations. Review the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Code of Ethics for Nurses. Based on these codes, determine if you believe it is appropriate to intervene in this scenario. Justify your position with evidence from one or both of the codes. ANSWER.
